In this lesson, you will need $30-$33 USD to buy your domain name for a year and hosting for three months.

The first thing you need in order to build your website is your domain name.

This is the name that people will type into their browsers to find you. Sometimes this is called your web address. It's the part that comes after the www when sharing your website.

The second thing you need is hosting. A hosting service is your digital landlord, they store the files that make up your website so they are accessible through the internet.

In the video below, I show you how to buy a domain and website from the website host I personally use. You may choose any domain registrar or website host for this part of the process. Buying through the link below will cost between $30-$33 USD - $15-$18 for your domain name for one year and $15 for three months of hosting.

This is enough to get started though you may choose to buy either for longer periods of time.
